Who were those lucky winners?
It was a beautiful night for Snowflake Dazzle this year (a huge improvement over last year’s weather)! The streets were busy with people and the Holiday spirit was quite contagious. The season of giving had a great kick off!

The four other winners of $100 in Mapleton Bucks were: Rebecca Benson, Ruth Jacobson, JoAnn Krengel and Jackie Griffin. The Well also had three lucky winners! First Place winner($75 value): Jessica Gabler, Second Place winner($50 Mapleton Bucks): Hailey Kuhns and Third Place winner($25 Mapleton Bucks): Trevor Pearson.
Mapleton Hardware also held their contest, giving away $1000. Dan Schaefer was the lucky winner of that prize.

What can the Chamber do for you?
The possibilities of the Chamber are unlimited.
While hosting events, the Chamber is at work providing the event sponsors and Chamber members networking and exposure at the same time providing entertainment for each community member. These social gatherings provide strength and support throughout the community, sending a positive message to anyone that attends.
Members support is what keeps the Mapleton Area Chamber of Commerce able to provide opportunities for these events and will keep the community vibrant. Something as simple as the Chamber sticker in the window, sends a positive message about your business. Letting people know that your business supports the community, and providing an opportunity to link the two together.
So, what does the Chamber do for you? Essentially as much as you will let it and as much as your participation will allow. The Chamber has taken the commitment upon itself to dedicate themselves to providing the link between community and business, ultimately enhancing our community’s quality of life.
Faith Bible Church 2nd Anniversary
celebration is happening January 27-29 with guest speaker, Rev. Connie Stewart. A Community Celebration Service is planned for Friday, Jan 27th at 7 p.m. Saturday afternoon will include a fun and informal celebration with a Secret Pals High Tea. Sunday, Jan 29th at 10:30, the weekend will culminate with a celebratory worship gathering followed by the Youth Mission Team Chili Feed fund-raiser and anniversary cake! Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new building will be coming up soon. It will house 20 full one-bedroom apartments with 3 larger apartments that contain dens. Each apartment includes a full kitchen, living room, bedroom and full bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Tenants may be independent and receive only the base services which include an emergency call pendant, the noon meal, weekly housekeeping, scheduled transportation and social events. Tenants that need more services may purchase these services additionally.
This beautiful building has a Bistro Café, an elegant Living Room and Dining room that are separated by a two-sided brick fireplace, a salon, a spa and much more! Please call (507)524-3315 or stop by for a tour.
What’s new with the Mapleton Area Chamber of Commerce? We are excited to share with you what the Chamber has been able to accomplish over the past year:
Chamber phone line is answered by our Coordinator every business day.
Community Garden had 20 rented plots and there are people on a waiting list to participate.
Farmers Market, Fridays from 3-6 p.m., June through end of September.
City Wide Garage Sale was June 18th.
Town and Country Days 5k Fun Run/Walk with T-shirts advertising Chamber members.
Updated Facebook page, providing links to Chamber members’ websites.
Easter Egg Hunt: 200 prizes were given out, began at Mapleton Community Home and ended with activities at the Well.
Community Closet was open every Saturday from 9a.m.-12 p.m., with all proceeds donated to the group tending the store.

The Mapleton Area Chamber of Commerce has many ties to our community. Numerous donations to the Mapleton community through the Charitable Gambling Fund have been made. Thus far in the year 2011 the Chamber has dispersed $25,176.27. Bringing the total donations granted $413,366.10 since 1997.Thank you for all of your support and participation to make all of these events possible!
HEADS UP - PLEASE PUT ON YOUR CALENDARS!
THE WELL YOUTH CENTER will be hosting "The Warm Winter Thaw", a fundraiser held Sunday, February 19th, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm . Menu: Bread Bowl Soup/Stew - choice of Chicken Wild Rice or Beef Vegetable, warm apple crisp, hot cider and coffee. Please stop by The Well to warm up with friends, to shorten the long winter months and to support our local youth center!
